COLOR ELIXIR BY COLOR SENSATIONAL
Maybelline recently released 20 shades of these babies. They are described as a trio of concentrates that delivers the color of a lipstick, the cushiony care of a balm, and the glass shine of a gloss.
We are seeing more of these color balms being released. Depending of the brand some are matte, glossy and even metallic. The Maybelline Color Elixir remind me more of a high quality, pigmented gloss. Their exclusive angora brush is awesome; better than any of the other lipgloss wands I’ve tried. It has the right mixture of softness, thickness and sponginess (didn’t know that was a real word). You’ll be able to get a precise, even application.
The Color Elixirs have a vanillaish scent. The formula is semi-thick and you will feel it on your lips. The first application is sheer but you can build them up. I wore them for about 5 hours and they did fade but I still had a hint of color left.
My favorite has to be Vision In Violent. These purples that have been coming out recently are freaking amazing and looks great on all skin tones. Hibiscus Haven was the first one I picked up because I love my Barbie pinks. I ended up disappointed because it pulled purple on me. Breathtaking Apricot and Mandarin Rapture are only 2 of the 4 I have that have pearl. They are packed with sparkle and noticeable but you won’t have disco ball lips.
Maybelline Color Elixir retail at around $8.99 at drugstores but I snagged them at BOGO 50% off at Rite Aid. With 20 shades available it’s no way you won’t be able to find your perfect shade. They were located on special displays at all the stores I’ve seen them at but they are permanent.
