Hey Baby Dolls! I swatched the lippies from MAC Me Over last week so if you missed it check it out!
Outre- I don’t know what’s going on with MAC and their mattes lately but I am not feeling them. I feel like I have to rape them with my brush to get a decent color payoff. After the initial fight, we made up and I now love the color. I described the color to my friend as a “dirty NC45” lol but it’s a unique mustard/brown color that would be a wonderful crease color.
Carbonized- Hi I’m Kia and I’m a sucker for MAC’s Veluxe Pearls. VP’s can do no wrong in my book, so of course I like carbonized. Yes I said like, I’m not in love with it and it’s definitely not a must have for ME but it’s a good shadow.
Avenue was the first thing on my MAC Me Over list but when I saw swatches I crossed it off; it looked like a muddy brown instead of black with gold shimmer. TURN OFF! But I didn’t give up on it so I threw it in the bag anyway and I’m glad I did. It doesn’t look brown on me at all, it’s super pigmented and I couldn’t be happier.
226 Brush- $24.50
The 226 was the star of the collection! The demand was so high that MAC only had enough to sell in store. I haven’t used it yet but I’m a little angry that it doesn’t look like the original 226 that launched in 2009. I’d be happier if it was thinner, denser and tapered.
Cream Colour Base (CCB)- $17.50
Take Root was another product that was on and off my list. I swatched it in-store and I really liked the uniqueness of it. It has a little shimmer, sheen and its buildable. Take Root is my first CCB so I’ll have to do some experimenting with it.
Overall I’m happy with what I bought from the collection. The concept for the collection was genius, I loved seeing “regular” people as the face of MAC.
