COCONUT CREAM AND SEA SALT SCRUB
Back in 2005, our inventors had come up with a number of fantastic cleansers but there was one category they had yet to conquer: The scrub! A sea salt scrub! With that, they whipped up (our now enormously popular) Ocean Salt. Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, while the antibacterial effects of lime and vodka is ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt and blockages.
- Suitable for all skin types: Ocean Salt is most beneficial for combination to oily skin.
- Ocean Salt contains a combination of coarse and fine sea salt.
- For an invigorating scrub: Salt and citrus oils can cause irritation for sensitive skin types. If you’re quite sensitive, we suggest using a gentler product.
Splash water on your face and apply about a teaspoonful of scrub using an upward, circular motion to exfoliate and refresh the skin. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry. Ocean Salt can also be used on other parts of the body including chest, back, arms and legs.
I’ve had my eye on Ocean Salt for a long time. It’s of Lush’s most popular products. For some reason I’m a sucker for scrubs in particular when it comes to skin care. We all want to find our holy grail products so I like to give everything a chance.
It looks great and smells even better. You get a whiff full of citrus, especially lime when you crack it open. You’ve got your scrubs that are exfoliating and/or moisturizing. Ocean Salt falls into the exfoliating category and it does the job quite well. It’s not moisturizing but it isn’t drying so that’s a plus. I like scrubs that have unique qualities that I can’t find in any other products. One thing that Ocean Salt has that all the other scrubs I tried don’t is that it leaves my skin soooooooo soft. I was rubbing my arms for a while after use.
I mostly used it on my body. Admittedly I got rough with it when I used it on my legs and it gave me a pretty deep scratch on my legs twice. It has a combination of coarse and fine sea salt so be mindful of that. I later read somewhere to make sure you stir it well, and I didn’t at first but not every use. I didn’t have any more problems after I gave it a good stir and was more gentle.
As far as my face goes I love because the smell lingers for a while. Like the rest of the body my face felt incredibly soft with no tight feeling. Since it’s more of an abrasive scrub I only use every week and a half for deep exfoliation. It’s made for all skin types but I really recommend it for those with oily skin. If you have sensitive skin you might want to give other Lush scrubs a try.
