Herstyler Ionic Metallic 1″ Professional Straightening Iron is a Folica exclusive item. It has a 1″ titanium plate and negative ion technology. What’s the difference between a titanium and ceramic plate? A titanium plate transfer heat to your faster than ceramic irons. Which makes it a more professional iron but it’s more damaging if you don’t know what you’re doing. Damaged hair is positively charged, so the negative ion technology eliminates static and frizz by neutralizing positive ions.
It heats up to 460 degrees F. Most flat iron are 400-450 degrees. It’s stated on Folica that this has “Variable temperature control” which means you are supposed to be able to adjust the temperature. I was happy to that the temperature went up to 460 but when I took it out the box it was a big let down.
Unless I’m an idiot I couldn’t find anything on the flat iron to adjust the temperature. I was so confused because I thought that was a basic feature when it comes to flat irons so I went over it, checked websites and everything and couldn’t find anything. Now if you have thick, coarse hair then 460 degrees might be good for you. But I like to wear wigs and weaves as well as my natural hair, so this flat iron is not for me. 460 degrees is too hot for other hair textures. I was surprised that at 460 degrees I had to go over my hair 5 times to get it straight like I want. I just can’t get over that it’s not an adjustable temperature, it’s like buying a brand new car and finding out it doesn’t have power locks.

Weird that the temperature isn’t adjustable, but I do like how shiny it is! 😀
