FSL (feel good, smell good, look good) Cosmetics was a brand I heard about on twitter. FSL is a small African-American owned company started by Kimberly Riley. Kim has a degree in chemical engineering and her passion for makeup developed in her adolescent years. The FSL line is exclusive to lipstick and lipgloss.
I received the opportunity to test out a lipgloss. I’m always rooting for the underdog so I love supporting smaller businesses. When I first pulled the wand out I noticed it didn’t feel like my other glosses. The product was thinner than your average gloss. It was very slippery and the texture was similar to baby oil. 14 Karat applied smoothly and two wand pulls was enough for my lips. It was not sticky in the least bit and left a nice shine but my lips felt very oily. 14 Karat gave me very little color pay off with some shimmer. I tried to build it up to achieve a better color payoff but the more I put on the more oilier my lips felt. It lasted alone around 4 hours and it won’t hold while eating or drinking.
I will recommend it to those who don’t like sticky glosses and prefer “no makeup” looks. I have seen swatches of other glosses and lipsticks and they look pigmented. Unfortunately this gloss was just not for me.
