My summer makeup is little to none. I get hot, cranky and over it. The last thing I want is to feel foundation on my face mixed with sweat. But the times I do wear makeup my go-to favs never disappoint. So I want to share my top 3 Summer Foundation picks to keep you looking cute and cool this season. Bloop!

summer foundations favorite 2015

I’ve been using OCC’s Tinted Moisturizer for YEARS. It’s my number 1 baby boo in the heat. I use this the most out of any other product in the summer. I apply this on top of a little concealer and go about my business. It’s lightweight and gives me enough coverage where I don’t feel insecure; it looks like my real skin. I apply a little finishing powder over it so it won’t transfer. It’s made with all vegan ingredients including purified water, coconut, and wild berry & aloe vera leaf extracts. Oh and it lasts forever.

Make Up For Ever Duo Mat baby! I LOVVEEEEEE this powder as you can see. It’s an oil-free powder foundation that’s buildable with a velvety matte finish. I love to spritz my face with MAC Mineralized Charge Water and buff this into my face with a kabuki brush. It’s gives me a medium to full coverage without looking cakey. I don’t have not one bad thing to say about it. It’s perfection. It doesn’t transfer and it lasts all day long. Apparently it’s recommended for combination to oily skin but I have dry skin and it works wonders. Now MUFE did release a new powder foundation a few years back called Pro-Finish. I have that as well and it’s nice but it’s no Duo-Mat. It’s targeted for normal to combination skin.

Normally I stay as far away from liquid foundations in the summer. I just end up feeling like the Wicked Witch of the West, I’m meltinggggggg, I”M MELLLLLTTTTTTIIINNGGGGGG! But some people just can’t abandon their beloved liquid so if that’s you, you’ll love MAC’s Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation. This heffa rolled up on the scene last month and showed out. My MAC artist friends were raving about it but I just shrugged it off. I got it anyway because well…. me. It can be worn as a foundation or concealer and is supposed to be wearable for 24 hours. I don’t know why anyone would need to wear foundation for 24 but whatev. It gives medium to full coverage while delivering a satin finish. I love this angel. I put a nickel sized amount on my hand and apply it with a beauty blender. A little goes a long way and paired with the new Pro Longwear Pressed Powder (which gives sheer to medium coverage by itself) your face will be flawless. I went out with my friends and came back home looking the same way I left out. No shining or fading or nothing. I was floored. It’s the best liquid foundation I have. Now since I just got it a couple weeks ago so I still have some testing to do with powders, different brushes…etc. I’ll have a full review up soon-ish.

Products To Consider

4Cover FX Custom Color Drops

This is a product that I’ve seen on a bunch of blogs but I really don’t know to much about. Custom Cover Drops contain concentrated pigments that allow you to customize any product and adjust the level of coverage you desire. So you can basically mix it with almost any of your skincare products and depending on how many drops you use it can give you sheer to full coverage. I like how multi-purpose it is. You can use them to adjust foundations that don’t match and make your own complexion products. I really want to give these a try simple because I’m intrigued.

5MAC Pro Longwear SPF 20 Compact Foundation

This came out last year I believe and it’s on my never ending to-buy list. It’s a Cream to Powder foundation and I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I’m a big fan of the liquid version, not the one I was talking about above but another one so I’m sure it’s great. It’s supposed to provide a ten-hour wear providing sheer to medium coverage with a natural matte finish. I also like how it has built in SPF.

  1. What shade do you use in the OCC tint? I’m trying to go clean with my makeup and haven’t had much luck finding swatches of the darker shades. I’m an NC 45 in MAC.

Hey Beautiful! Got something to say?
