So last month one of my twitter followers tweeted that she was out-of-town and forgot all her makeup at home. I INSTANTLY got anxiety and my mind started spinning. I thought to myself “now what would I do if that was me?” I immediately starting thinking of all the Emergency Makeup products I would need and what I would buy. Since I have an arsenal of makeup at home I wouldn’t go off and re-buy any mid to high-end makeup so everything would have to be from a drugstore.
When I went to the iRetreat blogger conference in PA a couple of months ago, Rite Aid took us to a local store and gave us a challenge. Buy $25 worth of products with a gift card and create a blog post about it. I originally was going to do a summer mani post but Emergency Makeup is something that might help us all. So here’s my top picks for great, affordable and easy to find products.
Maybelline BB Cream ($9)
Maybelline BB Cream is a cult favorite. It enhances and clarifies your skin; giving you a light and fresh-faced look.
Alternative: Need more coverage? Try Revlon ColorStay liquid foundation ($13)
Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio ($3)
These trios come in a wide variety of colors. They are pigmented, blendable and all shades compliment each other.
Alternative: Maybelline Color Tattoo ($7)- can be used as a base for the Trios or alone as a cream shadow.
Wet N Wild Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner ($3)
This award-winning eyeliner is most comparable to MAC’s Blacktrak Fluidline. People love this liner. Also comes with a brush.
Wet N Wild Mega Impact Mascara ($4)
This was on my 5 Mascaras for Under $10 list. It’s a simple mascara that will give you average length but not really thickening though.
Alternative: Need a more glam look? Maybelline The Rocket mascara ($7) lengthens and thickens. I love it.
Wet N Wild Color Icon Blusher ($3)
A lot of Wet n Wild on this list. It’s simply because they have great products for an affordable price. Their blush is no different. A lot of pigment, good quality and shades for all skin tones for only $3.
Alternative: My favorite drugstore blushes are Milani’s Baked Blushes ($8.50). Amazing quality and a lot of shades, can’t live without them.
Wet N Wild Mega Last Lip Color ($2)
I’ll tell you a secret. My favorite red lipstick is WnW’s Spotlight Red. For just $2 you get an awesome, long-lasting, pigmented lipstick. Comes in over 20 shades.
Alternative: Milani Color Statement Lipsticks ($6) are too bomb. You can see swatches of all shades here.
Exactly $25! And knowing Rite Aid, they have sales all the time so it’ll probably be cheaper. I realize this list is mostly Wet N Wild, other cheaper drugstore brands are ELF and now NYX.
What would be on your Emergency Makeup List?
