Being a woman can be a terrible blessing or a great curse depending how you look at it. Our bodies are amazing, our hormones crazy but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
With all that’s going wrong in the world one of the only good things I credit is how women have started embracing themselves. All over social media you see women falling in love with their bodies and showing them off. Plus sized models are rocking it on/off the runway and even on the cover of your favorite magazines. Women of all sizes are killing it.
I spent almost my entire life being self-conscious because of my weight. It wasn’t until the last few years that I started loving myself and my curves. We are all different. We don’t have the same thoughts, feelings or bodies.
You know what all these women have in common? They are all the exact same weight. It’s no such thing as one size fits all. There’s no “right” shape and there’s no “wrong” shape.
I’ve been keeping a secret. About two months ago I had weight loss surgery, which is the main reason my blog has been slow. This isn’t something I was hiding or planned to keep quiet about I just trying to get it all together. It’s way more of a mental journey than physical. I will be sharing my entire journey soon.
With that said. I am 30 pounds down since and almost 60 pounds down in the last 18 mos. My entire body is changing, yes the entire thing, including my period. I’m one of the few unlucky people who have an IUD and still have a period every month. Yay. With the surgery and losing the weight it’s completely different from what it has been, month to month. No matter if it’s heavy and short or light and long there’s one thing I don’t have to change and that’s my feminine product of choice. I’ve been using o.b. Tampons; they provide leak protection, they are smooth to insert because of the SilkTouch technology and they are so discreet to carry around. o.b. comes alive to custom fit your body. I’ve never felt uncomfortable using them. You can check out my experience with them in my first post.
Your worth is not your weight. We all have struggles. There’s some great brands that have been putting out body positive campaigns and o.b. Tampons is one. You don’t how long you’ll be here so spend your days living in love. There’s only one you, you’re pretty special.
